Thomas A. Curtin, 63, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Stamford Hospital. He was born on April 4, 1950 in Galway, Ireland to the late Patrick and Margaret Mahan Curtin.
Thomas was a carpenter and owner of C&C Construction of Stamford. He was a four time Connecticut State Hurler, a member of Galway Hurling Club of New York, Glenbrook A.C. Club, Elks Club and also an avid golfer with the Stamford Hibernian Golf Club
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ruddy Curtin of Stamford, his loving children Christina, Colleen and Thomas P. Curtin all of Stamford, three brothers John Curtin and his wife Ann of Fairfield, Patrick Curtin and his wife Kitty of Ireland, Gerard Curtin and his wife Teresa of Ireland, two sisters Maureen Shaw of VA and Carmel Lane and her husband Michael of Ireland, including many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his two sisters Theresa Roban, Bridget Nicholas and his brother Michael Curtin.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, January 16, 2013 at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM St. Bridget’s of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Thomas’s memory to The Stamford Hospital Foundation, Heart and Vascular Institute, 1351 Washington Blvd, Suite 202,Stamford, CT 06902.
