Thomas J. Kane, a lover of theater and devotee of all things Shakespearian, died January 12, 2013, after a brief illness. He was 92 years old and a longtime resident of Stamford, CT. His love of New York City started at New York University where he received a B.S. in 1942, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. He served as a captain during World War II in the Persian Gulf Command. His career positions included Price Waterhouse; NYSE; vice president of administration at Kuhn Loeb & Co., director of member relations Financial Executives Institute; and director of finance at Shea & Gould. Kane was a trustee at N.Y.U. and a former president of the Alumni Federation. In retirement he served as a board member of Learning in Retirement in Stamford, CT. He is survived by his daughter, Rosemary Kane Carlough of Pleasantville, N.Y., and his son, Christian Kane of Fairfield, CT; their spouses; and four grandchildren. A Memorial Service will held on 2/9/13 at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Stamford, CT. The family suggests donations to N.Y.U.; the Roundabout Theatre Company, in Manhattan; or to WSHU Public Radio Group, in Fairfield, CT.
