Thomas C. Manos, 92, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Greenwich Woods. Born January 10, 1917 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Charles and Angelina Bolanos Manos.
Thomas was a buyer for the US Postal Service for thirty eight years until his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He was also a competitive ballroom dancer having won several competitions. After retiring from the post office, Tom formed Tom Manos Enterprises, an office cleaning service, operating for over fifteen years.
He is survived by his wife, Marina Tournas Manos; two daughters, Angela Manos of Stamford; and Paula Manos of Norwalk; a son, Charles and his wife Lynne Phillips Manos of New Milford; a granddaughter, Jennifer Grosso of AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his three sisters, Mary Manos, Helen Symanowski and Christine Cuozzo; and a brother, James Manos.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, March 19 from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM with a Trisagian Service being held at 7:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 20 and proceed to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1230 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
