Tommaso “Masino” Socci, age 80, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the devoted husband of Angela Calandrelli Socci, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Settefrati, Italy, Tommaso was the son of the late Serafino Socci and Nicolina Buzzeo Socci. His enduring love story with Angela began through heartfelt letters exchanged across the miles while he was in the United States and she remained in Italy. Their long-distance relationship blossomed into a lasting bond, and he was eventually able to bring her to Stamford, where together they built a life grounded in love, hard work, and family.
A man of quiet strength and steady presence, Tommaso was known for his no-nonsense outlook and unwavering devotion to those he loved. A simple man in the best sense, he found deep joy in life’s small pleasures—watching the Cooking Channel, enjoying WWE wrestling with his wife and children, and spending precious time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Tommaso leaves behind a legacy of integrity, humility, and unconditional love. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, strong values, and the enduring example he set through a life well lived.
In addition to his cherished wife Angela, Tommaso is survived by his loving children: Anthony Socci of Stamford; Paula Galello and her husband Richard of Stratford; and Lydia Socci of Stamford. He was the proud and devoted grandfather of Michael and Brianna Galello of Stratford, and Anthony and Mia Gangi of Stamford.
Tommaso is also survived by his sister, Maria Lia Capocci of Norwalk, CT.
He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Joseph “Peppi” Socci, and his adored brother-in-law, Frank Capocci.
His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
