Tullia Forlani Kidde, 69, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2007 at Stamford Hospital after a valiant struggle with pneumonia. Born March 23, 1938 in Sofia, Bulgaria, she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Maria Forlani. She came to the United States in 1968 and soon married Walter "Skip Kidde and moved to Stamford, CT in 1974.
A diagnosis of "terminal cancer at age 36 gave Tullia opportunity to learn first hand about how mind and spirit can heal the physical body, as she surprised all that knew her with her remarkable recovery. She used this knowledge to help others as she became a therapist and counselor for those experiencing life threatening illnesses, and helped Bernie Siegel M.D. develop ECaP, his program for exceptional cancer patients, where she transformed the lives of countless cancer patients.
In addition to her work at ECap she developed a private practice in Stamford, where her deep understanding of the issues affecting her clients allowed her to help them in ways that they will always remember.
She passionately pursued her interests in spiritual and metaphysical studies and went on to become an ordained Interfaith Minister, allowing her to be a trustee and to officiate at the Alberston Memorial Church, which was founded by her mentor, dearest friend and teacher Dorothy Wynn Smith.
Her love for the Church and things spiritual were equaled only by her love for animals, for which she held a life long compassion. She participated in many animal rescue operations and contributed to many animal related charities.
She is survived by her only sister, Lia Kasper of Morges, Switzerland and in the hearts, minds and souls of all who knew her.
A service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2007, 12 noon, at the Albertson Memorial Church, 283 Sound Beach Ave, Old Greenwich.
