Vikram Bhandari, 51, a resident of Wilton CT, passed away battling a year long illness on 4th January 2026 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
We remember Vikram Ji, a dear friend, a passionate Hindu, and a dedicated Swayamsevak, whose life was deeply rooted in values, discipline, and selfless service to society and the nation.
Vikram Ji had a unique way of bringing joy to those around him—always doing something that made us laugh—while never losing sight of his larger purpose: serving the society. He was instrumental in starting the first “Sangh Shakha” in Connecticut, laying a strong foundation for future generations. We witnessed him tirelessly initiating and nurturing several grassroots efforts across CT, including Ekal, Hindi USA, and many other initiatives, always eager to do more.
He lived with unwavering conviction and quiet strength. Even during the challenges of COVID, he faced adversity with courage and continued to perform his dharma, delivering PPE kits to first responders. His unparalleled commitment to Sewa was once again evident in this year’s SewaDiwali, through which Connecticut alone raised and donated 120,000 pounds of food to local food pantries.
His actions reflected a deep sense of responsibility, purpose, and selflessness. To those who knew him closely, Vikram Ji was not only a friend but someone you could always rely on for any help.
His departure is not merely the loss of an individual, but the silencing of a life devoted to ideals, service, and community upliftment. His legacy will continue to guide and inspire us.
May his noble soul attain sadgati, and may we all find the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
In lieu of flowers or planting a tree, please consider contribution to his favorite causes Sewa International and EKAL.
Om Shanti. 🙏
