Vincent J. Janniello, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. He was born on September 9, 1922 to the late Frank and Louise Janniello.
Vincent was born in the Little Italy section of New York City in 1922. He spent his childhood in Mount Vernon, New York and graduated from Edison High School. Vincent was the band leader of his own big band, named the Jimmy Jann Orchestra. He served during WW II in the Army as an MP and later as a member of the USO band, playing the saxophone throughout Europe. After the war, he married his wife, Rose, and settled in Stamford in 1954, where he raised his family. He worked as an insurance agent in Met Life’s Stamford Office until he retired in 1977. He loved spending time with his three children, seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Vincent is survived by his children Frank Janniello of Stamford, LouAnn O’Malley of Milford, and James Janniello of Sarasota, FL; brother Rudy Janniello of Yonkers, NY; grandchildren Michael, Sean, Theresa, Lauren, Elizabeth, Nicole, and Erin; great grandchildren, Dante, Reid, and Ella, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Rose Marano Janniello and his brother Frank Janniello.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory on 104 Myrtle Ave. Monday, January 15, 2018 at 9:10 AM and process to the Church of the Holy Spirit, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield, CT. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
