Vincent “Jim” LoBuglio, 94, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2018, at his home in Stamford, with his loving wife of 71 years, Marjorie, by his side. The son of Italian immigrants, Jim was born and raised on the Westside of Stamford, on December 1, 1923, to the late Dominic and Maria Palermo LoBuglio.
He was a graduate of Stamford High School, Class of 1941. He served in the US Navy during WW II and after the war, he worked as an upholsterer, then as a sheet metal worker at American Cyanamid (Cytec), retiring in 1989. When Jim was not working in his yard, he spent his leisure time golfing, playing poker at Foxwoods, and improvising repairs and “inventions.” He was extremely proud of his large family and the gatherings that often took place around the 16 foot dining table built by his cabinet-maker father.
Besides his wife, Marjorie, he is survived by his nine children, James LoBuglio (Monika), Karen Longo (Bill), Cindy Kakaletris (Lou), Dawn LoBuglio, Marge Loffa, Maureen Vita, Lisa Lawlor (David), Michael LoBuglio (Barbara), and Diane DiFato. Also surviving are his twenty grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, his brother, Victor LoBuglio (Jackie), as well as ten nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister Cecelia, his brothers, Peter, Joseph and Dominic LoBuglio, his grandson James LoBuglio, Jr., and his son-in-law Peter Vita, who passed away on Tuesday, January 9.
There will be no calling hours. A private burial will be held at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
