Vincent Mallozzi, 87, of Stamford passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 7, 2016. He was born on September 3, 1928 in Minturno, Italy.
Vincent proudly served in the Italian Air Force and worked for the City of Stamford for over twenty five years before retiring in 2004. Family, gardening and cooking were his passions, as well as making his own wine and having grown a giant fig tree that he lovingly cared for, year after year.He was a past president and proud member of the Minturnese Club of Stamford and was very involved in the club activities.
Vincent was loved and will be missed by his family, whom he brought together every holiday and all family events. We will carry his words and love in our hearts always.
He is survived by his loving daughter Rina Curcio and her husband Ron of SC, his grandchildren Lori Lehan and her husband Ed, Scott Curcio and his wife Nancy ,Dana DiCostanzo and her husband Gene, Sam Kennedy and his wife Christine, Robin Cramer and her husband Brad, as well as twelve great grandchildren. Vincent is also survived by a brother in Australia and a brother and sister in Minturno, Italy.
He was predeceased by his wife Frances Mallozzi in 2014, his daughter Julie Brzoska, his son Lewis DiCostanzo and his brother Amerigo from Canada.
A funeral Procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Gabriel’s RC Church, 914 Newfield Avenue, Stamford at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Greenwich. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday April 18, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
