Vincenza Angeloni
March 18, 1921 — July 16, 2009
Vincenza Romano Angeloni, 88, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at her home in Redding. Born March 18, 1921 in Chicago, IL she was the daughter of the late Moniano and Connetta Papanello Romano.
Vincenza was raised in Minturna, Latina, Italy. She was also a long time Stamford resident and worked for Clairol for many years. She volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital as well as becoming a Eucharistic Minister for Church of St. Cecilia, both in Stamford. She retired in Redding and continued to be a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick’s Church in Redding.
She is survived by her son, Luciano (John) Angeloni and his wife Debra of Redding; two daughters: Nicolina (Lena) Pierni and her husband Joseph of Stamford; and Rita Angeloni of Bethel; two granddaughters: Jenna Lee Angeloni of Bethel; and Lisa Marie Pierni Wells of Fairfield; and one great granddaughter, Nicolina Grace Wells of Fairfield.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Angelo Angeloni.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Monday, July 20 from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Tuesday, July 21 and proceed to Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM with Rev. David Riley and Rev. Russell Augustin officiating. Entombment will follow at St. John Cemetery Mausoleum in Darien.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Regional Hospice, 405 Main Street, Danbury, CT 06810.
