Vincenza Rizzi Balducci, 91, formerly of Stamford, a resident of Danbury, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008 at Danbury Hospital. Born April 19, 1917 in Minturno, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Anna Maria Rizzi.
Mrs. Balduccis family was the focal point of her life. She truly enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a retired assistant school dietician for Stamford High School.
She is survived by her husband, Felix A. Balducci of Danbury; a daughter, Sandie Balducci Coppola of Bethel; a son, Felix C. Balducci, Jr. and his wife Victoria of Stamford; three sisters, Mildred Cogliandro of Riverside, Felicia Stramandinoli of Stamford; and Lena Cocchia of Stamford; a brother, Eugene Rizzi of Stamford; and her caretaker, Akosua Asamoah. Six grandchildren, Kristyn Coppola, Karyee Rux, Vincent Balducci, Patrick Balducci, Lori Hensley and Gina Balducci; and three great-grandchildren, Shea Balducci, Caylie Balducci and T.J. Rux.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Jimmy and Nicholas Rizzi; and a sister, Mary Tornatore.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, November 28 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:10 AM on Saturday, November 29, and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.
