Vincenzo Giannitti of San Mango Sul Calore, Avellino Italy, died February 4, 2009 in Italy. He was 83.
Born November 27, 1925 in Italy, he was the son of the late Pietro and Caterina Petruzziello Giannitti.
He is survived by his wife, Genoveffa Melchionno of San Mango Sul Calore; a daughter, Carmela (Duilio �"Vittorio) Faugno of Stamford; three sons, Teodoro (Maria Grazia) Giannitti of San Mango Sul Calore; Alessio (Angela) Giannitti of Stamford; and Elio (Filomena) Giannitti of San Mango Sul Calore; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Raffaele and Antonio; and three sisters: Carmela, Concetta and Ellena all of Italy.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on February 6 in San Mango Sul Calore, Italy. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 12 at 7:30 PM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT.
