Virginia B. DeLuca, 88, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in New Jersey on July 7, 1929 to the late Frank and Anna Mae Stevenson Boehn.
Virginia is survived by her loving children, Debra DeLuca of Greenwich, Susan Graham and her husband Lou of Southington, CT, Pam Possidento and her husband Danny of Stamford, as well as nine grandchildren, Jason, Candice, Alison, Samantha, Joey, Nick, Vinny, Danielle and Anthony. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kendra, Joey and Jase and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Vincent M. DeLuca, two brothers, Frank and Richard Boehn and three sisters, Ruth Giannico, Gloria Haddix and Irene Cackowski.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A funeral service will be celebrated in Virginia’s memory on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 265 Seaside Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Virginia’s memory to the Bennett Cancer Center, 1 Hospital Plaza, Stamford, CT 06902 or to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or to a Charity of one’s choice.
