Walter E. Finch

Walter E. Finch, 92, of Norwalk, CT, died on Friday February 3, 2006 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Stamford, CT on October 11, 1913, he was the son of the late Frederick O. and Mary Long Finch.
He was a retired superintendent of mail at the Stamford Post Office, and was a former employee of Stamford Advocate and Barden Press.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Frances M. Thimler Finch, of Norwalk; a beloved daughter, Nancy Finch, of Norwalk; a beloved son, Walter E. Finch, Jr., of Norwalk; four beloved grandchildren, Mark Finch, Kathryn Malizia, Max Finch, and Zachary Finch; three beloved great granddaughters, Brooke, Meghan and Krystin Finch; and a beloved niece Lou Ann Finch.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his two brothers Frederick and Alfred Finch and a sister Mae Finch.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT, at 9:20 AM on Tuesday February 7, 2006, and proceed to St. Johns RC Church, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday February 6, 2006 from 4 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to St. Johns RC Church, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT 06901.
