William F. “Butch” Bocuzzo, 68, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, July 4, 2021. He was born in Stamford on January 2, 1953 to Eleanor Blomster Bocuzzo and the late William V. Bocuzzo.
He had a very large extended family and truly enjoyed getting together with all of his relatives. Fourth of July was one of his favorite holidays. Many a 4th celebration was spent setting off fireworks while the rest of us ran for cover. His favorite pastime was hunting and fishing and enjoyed taking his 2 great nephews fishing (mainly untangling the line) Playing cards was another source of great fun, win or lose wasn’t as important as the laughs and back and forth bantering and teasing, jokes and wisecracks. He had a soft spot for babies and little children. Everyone was his friend new and old. He loved to reminisce about growing up, his colorful escapades with childhood friends and loved to retell them over and over again. His personality was big, as was his heart and appetite. He worked in the electrical sales business until his retirement . His passing leaves a big void in our lives and it will not be the same without him.
Butch is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years,, Coleen Royce Bocuzzo of Stamford, his loving daughter, Kelly Bocuzzo and her spouse of FL, his loving mother, Eleanor Bocuzzo of Stamford, as well as his three sisters, Donna, Denise, Sharon and their spouses, a sister in law, Cheryl Royce of NY. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will be held privately and there will be no calling hours.
