William Chirimbes

William Chirimbes, 87, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at his home in Florida. Born April 2, 1922 in Stamford, he was the son of the late George and Margo Chirimbes.
William owned Center Press and was a teacher at J.M. Wright Technical School. He was a Veteran of the US Navy having served in WWII. William was an avid golfer and puzzle enthusiast.
He is survived by his son, Paul “Chipper” Chirimbes of Hollywood, FL; his daughter, Jackie Chirimbes of Wilmington, DE; three grandchildren: Shannon Netta of Wilmington, DE; and Ryan and Blair Jost of NYC; two great grandchildren, Connor and Madeline Matheny; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Fannie and Fannie; and a brother, Peter Chirimbes.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Tuesday, October 20 from 5:00 �" 8:00 PM with a service being held at 6:00 PM with Rev. Harry Pappas officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Catholic Hospice, 14875 NW 77th Avenue, Suite 100, Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
