William Hess Iii

William F. Hess III, 69, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. William was born in Springfield, MA on June 30, 1946 to Martha B. Laro Hess and the late William F. Hess, Jr.
William was a graduate of East Longmeadow High School, Class of 1964, in East Longmeadow, MA. He was a member of the Local 91 International Union of Elevator Constructors in East Hartford, CT for 42 years. William also served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971.
William is survived by his loving wife Catherine M. Hess of Stamford, his son, Erik Hess of Massachusetts, his daughter Teresa Hess of Massachusetts, his step-daughter Catherine Chuzas of Norwalk, his step-son Joseph Chimbolo and his wife Carolyn of Madison, CT, his four sisters, Alice Bradway and her husband Larry, Bernie Richardson and her husband Alex, Irene LaRussa of Massachusetts and Doreen Rauch and her husband Chris, all of Massachusetts and his brother Frankie Hess and his wife Joyce of Myrtle Beach, SC. Several grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT at 9:30AM on Saturday, April 9, 2016 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Cecilia RC Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT at 10:30AM. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in William’s name to the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), 801 18th Street N.W., Washington, D.C. 2006-3517.
