A great loss for the family and friends of William T Murphy, 71, a lifelong resident of Stamford was felt on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 by his passing with his beloved family by his side. He was born in Stamford on December 15, 1943 to William T. Murphy, Sr. and Dorothy Smith Murphy.
He was a graduate of Stamford High School Class of 1962. He was employed by Alinabal Inc. of Milford CT for over 40 years. Upon retirement he became a school crossing guard, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.
His love of life was known to all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor, a go to guy for everything, no favor too big, he had friends from all walks of life that shared his love of his jeeps, The New York Yankees, his casino trips and his infamous cooking of his tasty dishes from his kitchen to his backyard grill. His real passion was travel in which he and his beloved wife Jackie went to exotic places all over the world. But his favorite destinations were the family vacation he took with his children and grandchildren.
Besides his parents he is survived by his wife of 51 years Jacquelyn Bartholomew Murphy, daughter Suzanne Gallicano and her husband John, son Shawn Murphy and his wife Julie, six adored grandchildren, Shawna Murphy, Nicholas Gallicano, Michael Murphy, Shelby Gallicano, Michelle Murphy, Dakota Gallicano and aunts, uncles, many cousins, as well as his beloved Yorkie, Little Willie and two cats Nico and Oreo.
William’s final request is that there will be no services and Interment will be private. The family requests that donations be made in William’s memory to the American Cancer Society,825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Ctr, Rocky Hill, CT 06067
