Winifred A. �"Winnie Hoder passed away Thursday May 4, 2006.
Born in Stamford, October 10, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Davies James.
�"Winnie as she preferred to be called was a lifelong resident of Stamford until 3 years ago where she resided with her daughter, Gail, in Wilton. She was a member for many years of the Elks Club in Glenbrook and Springdale. In spite of many hardships, �"Winnie was a very strong woman; most likely a trait she inherited from her mother who survived the �"Titantic. She took pride in her self description of �"I aint no knittin grandma.
�"Winnie will always be remembered as a very excellent waitress with the Riverside Yacht Club, General Electric Corp., and the Champion Corporation.
In addition to her daughter Gail LaGuardia of Wilton, she is also survived by a daughter Linda Pasqua of Harbinger, North Carolina, a son John DuJack of Florida and six grandchildren Andrea LaGuardia, Michael LaGuardia, Ryan LaGuardia, Janine Pasqua, Jennifer DuJack, and Ashlie DuJack. Four great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband John Hoder, three brothers Henry, Arthur and Francis James, and a sister Mildred Dianis.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Johns Episcopal Church 628 Main St. Stamford on Friday May 12, 2006 at 1 PM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery Darien, CT.
There are no calling hours at the Funeral Home.
