Antonio Vitti

Antonio Pasquale Vitti, a longtime resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 26, 2024, with his loving family at his bedside. Anthony was born on July 14, 1947, in Sette Fratte, Italy and was the only child born to the late Luigi and Maria (Buzzeo) Vitti. Anthony was 76 years old at the time of his passing.

Anthony attended Stamford High School, graduating with the Class of ’67. He went on to own and operate A & M Mechanical Systems. He will be known by many for his parties that included his famous Tony Vitti cheeseburgers and beer dogs. His devotion to the community was seen every summer when he volunteered and donated his time cooking at the St. Leo, St. Mary, and Sacred Heart fairs. Above all else, Anthony’s greatest joy was spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren Christopher and Sofia – and, of course, riding his Harley.

He was a thoughtful and supportive husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. A man who was humble and peaceful, and truly beyond description. He meant so much to so many people, and never sought anything in return.

Anthony leaves behind his devoted wife of 54 years, Carol Vitti (Bivona); his sons Michael Vitti and Christopher Vitti and his wife Maria; his grandchildren Christopher and Sofia Vitti; sisters-in-law Barbara Pacelli and Theresa Bivona; brother-in-law Thomas Bivona; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and family friends. In addition to his parents, Anthony is predeceased by his brother-in-law, Fred “Skip” Bivona.

A mass of Christian burial for Anthony will take place at 11:00AM on Monday, June 3, 2024, at St. Leo R.C. Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT 06902. The interment will be private. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations in Anthony’s name are encouraged and may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at
