Diane Liberatore
Diane Lynn Liberatore, 76, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Norwalk Hospital. She was born on September 15, 1946, to the late Albert Gallo and Betty Spiezio.
Diane is known for her love, inspiration and selfless devotion to family and friends. She had a hunger for knowledge, a passion for astronomy, and always appreciated a beautiful beach, a setting sun and wildlife. Diane was raised by parents in the theatre which influenced her commitment to supporting live musical, theatrical and television performances. Diane was committed to her Catholic faith and was a longtime parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in Westport. Diane tirelessly cheered for her children and grandchildren in sporting contests and school events. Diane was no stranger to taking the road less traveled. She supervised construction crews on major commercial development projects and ran a local dock for many years while consistently making one of the best triple layer chocolate cakes on this side of the Mississippi. No matter what the circumstances, Diane found the humor and could make you laugh. Diane’s life was always half full and she was a silver lining for those that knew her.
Diane is survived by her loving sons, John A. Liberatore and his wife Maria G. Liberatore of Stamford, Anthony A. Liberatore and his wife Christianne Liberatore of Stamford, sister, Barbara Gallo of Stamford, nephew, James Davis of Santa Barbara, grandchildren, Hayley R. Liberatore and John A. Liberatore, cousins John and Robin Russo of Stamford and their children, Paul and Tammy Montanaro of Stamford and their children and their respective families, the surviving children of cousin Cynthia DiStefano, and other beloved family from the Gallo lineage.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
