John Condon
John J. Condon, 90, a life-long resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, August 21, 2022 with his family by his side.
John was born on April 14, 1932 to the late James and Mildred (Murtha) Condon. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and served as a member of the U.S. Navy before he was honorably discharged in 1953. John retired in 1994 after more than 40 years in the radiology department at Stamford Hospital. He enjoyed spending time with his family and skeet/trap shooting with his late brother, Ed.
John is survived by his loving children, Stephen Condon and his wife Donna of Stamford; Janet Piacenza and her husband Robert of Norwalk; and Lisa Drain and her husband Thomas of Norwalk. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Mark (Stephanie), Nicholas (Shannon), Christopher (Laura), Laura (Josh), Jamie (Taylor), Matthew and Ryan and five great grandchildren: Lindsay, Cole, Andie, Cameron and Ella, who will remember Grandpa John for his sense of humor and his full head of brown hair.
In addition to his parents and brother, John is predeceased by his loving wife of sixty years, Marie M. (Foster) Condon and his mother and aunt-in-law, Stella Foster and Victoria Tisano.
The family would like to recognize Monice Duncan of Norwalk who supported them in caring for John during his final years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 29, 2022, at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk at 10:30 a.m. The entombment will immediately follow mass at St. John’s Cemetery in Norwalk.
