Brien Malloy

Brien Edward Malloy, a native of Stamford, and a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and dear friend to many, passed away at home on the evening of Monday, July 31, 2023 with his family at his bedside. Brien was born in Stamford, CT, on October 26, 1946 and was one of eight children born to the late William F. and Agnes V. (Egan) Malloy. Brien was 76 years old at the time of his passing.
Brien graduated from Stamford High School in 1965. He then attended Central Connecticut State University where he was a standout football player. After graduating college he returned to Stamford High as a physical education teacher and football coach. He later transitioned to a career in construction where he would go on to become a Senior Project Superintendent for Turner Construction. He took great pride in showing all of the buildings that he had helped build in Stamford and the surrounding towns.
Having lived in Stamford all his life, Brien had a love for the city and for serving his community. He served as a member of the Stamford Board of Representatives and combined his love of golf and of service by becoming an active member of the Stamford Golf Authority for over 27 years.
Even more important to Brien than golf, was the love he had for his family. Brien is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 53 years, Christina (Maintanis) Malloy; their children Kelly Malloy of Stamford, CT, Brien Malloy (Christine) of North Bellmore, NY, and Steven Malloy (Amanda) of Scottsdale, AZ, and grandchildren Steven, Neala, Brien, Clare, Madeline and Egan. Brien was predeceased by his sister Mary Gail Malloy and is survived by his brothers William (Evon), Ronald (Sandra), Kevin (Linda), Kerry (Patricia), Shaun (Johnnie), and Dannel (Catherine), as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 am on the morning of Thursday, August 10, at St. Bridget of Ireland R.C. Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave, Stamford, CT 06902. The interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Brien’s name may be made to the American Lung Association and Lucky Dog Refuge, 36 Pulaski Street, Stamford, CT 06902.
