Claudia C. Toscano, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, March 20, 2022. Claudia was born in Stamford, CT on October 13, 1924 and was one of five children born to the late Joseph and Maria Theresa Truglia. Claudia was 97 years old at the time of her passing.
Claudia was born and raised in Stamford. She met her husband, Joseph Toscano, in her early twenties and they married in 1947. After raising her children and caring for the family, Claudia worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Rogers School for the Stamford public school system for 20 years. Claudia was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #9617, an active parishioner of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, and a member of the St. Mary Rosary Guild. She also loved to cook for family and enjoyed gardening, especially her beautiful azalea bushes.
Claudia is survived by her son, 1st Sgt Joseph J. Toscano of Norwalk, CT; daughter Regina Cutler of Burbank, CA; grandson Joseph Toscano Schultz and his wife Marisa of Norwalk, CT; brothers Anthony Truglia and Joseph Truglia both of Stamford; sister Rose Santorella also of Stamford, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents Claudia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph Toscano, sister Josephine Dastoli, sister-in-law Delia Truglia, and brothers-in-law Frank Santorella and Mike Dastoli.
In keeping in accordance with Claudia’s final wishes, the funeral services will be held privately.
