Emanuel Blosio

Emanuel “Manny” Blosio, 91 years old, a lifelong Stamford resident, passed away peacefully at his home on August 6, 2023. Manny was born in Marcianise, Italy on November 2, 1931 to the late Enrico Blosio and Assunta Lasco Blosio.
Manny graduated from Stamford High School in 1949. He served in the Naval Reserve for two years then the US Army as Sergeant First Class Technical (1951-1954) in the 60th Recon Company, where he saw combat in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Bridgeport and later earned a Master’s Degree in Education. He was a charter member and past Grand Knight of the Fr. Myron V. Miller Council #5833 of the Knights of Columbus. Manny taught Fine Arts and Stagecraft at Rippowam High School/Rippowam Cluster. He was the co-founder of the Board of Education Summer Theater (B.E.S.T). He was a Boy Scout Leader, Babe Ruth Baseball Coach, Board of Rec Playground Counselor and an assistant for the St. Cecilia Youth Group (CYO) and many other local organizations. Many knew and called him “Great Bloz”. He never missed any activities his children and grandchildren participated in.
Manny is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rosemarie Marrucco Blosio, sons, Richard (Allison), Robert (Pamela), Randal (Lisa), daughter Robyn-Anne Blosio (Bova), sister Antoniette Macchio, and sister-in-law Carole Marrucco, eleven grandchildren, Anthony (Jennifer), Nick (Jenn), Brooke, Jaclyn (Reese), Robert (Kimberly),Teresa (Thomas), Emily, Rudy, Paul Jr (Kendra), Antonia, Julia (Joshua) and three great-grandchildren, A.J., Luca Emanuel and Summer Blaise and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Nina Vaccaro (Joseph), sister-in-law Carmela (Marrucco) Flandreau (Theodore) and brothers-in-law Joseph Marrucco and William Macchio, and nephew John Reidy.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 12th at St. Cecilia Church 1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford, CT from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:00 AM. The inurnment with military honors will immediately follow mass at St. John Cemetery, Darien, CT.
