Filippa Salvatore
Filippa Salvatore (Mallozzi), peacefully passed away at her home in Stamford on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was one of five children born to the late Giuseppe and Maria Antonia Mallozzi in Minturno, Italy on December 7, 1928. Filippa was 93 years old at the time of her passing.
Known to many as Immacolata, born the day before the Immaculate Conception, she immigrated with her 3 children from Minturno Italy in 1968 at the age of 39. She worked at Viola Hotels in Gaeta, Italy; in Stamford at Carlton Deb Coats, Manger Electric, Pitney-Bowes and then retired from Stop & Shop in 1999.
Filippa was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Salvatore, and is survived by her loving daughters; Angelamaria Raus and husband Frank and Luigia Coppola and husband Alessandro, her beloved son; Antonio Salvatore, Jr and wife Elvira, her five grandchildren; Alessandra Cataldo and husband Michael, Stefania Coppola and fiancé Jason Faugno, Antonio Salvatore III and wife Rachel, Massimo Salvatore and wife Alexandra and Fabio Salvatore, her five great grandchildren; Luca, Dante, Alessia, Giovanni and Matteo,her sister; Vincenza Perrone, her sister-in-law, Rosa Mallozzi and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and husband, Filippa was preceded in death by her brothers; Stefano Mallozzi, Vincenzo Mallozzi and Antonio Mallozzi.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 2 PM to 6 PM, with a Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Monday, December 13th at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. Mary R.C. Cemetery in Greenwich.
