James Coviello
James L. “Jimmy” Coviello, 83, of Stamford, CT passed peacefully on Friday, January 28, in his home, surrounded by his family. Born on November 24, 1938, he was the son of John and Helen (Poltrack) Krajewski, and was proud to have lived his entire life in Stamford.
Mr. Coviello was a graduate of JM Wright Technical School. Following high school, he began working at Machlett Labs and continued his professional career at General Reinsurance for 20 years. He concluded his working years at Daymon Associates.
Jimmy spent his retired years enjoying many passions. His first, and most important, was food. He and his sister and partner in crime, Jackie, traveled far and wide for all of their favorite treats. Most commonly, you could find them at farms, bakeries, and on an annual trip to Springfield, MA for all their favorite food specialties at The Big E!
He was known for his legendary dance moves and well-researched stock market tips. His piercing blue eyes and bright white smile would light up the room as soon as he walked in. On any given day, until the age of 80, Jimmy could be found spending his mornings playing tennis at Scalzi Park with his friends and his afternoons at Waveny Dog Park in New Canaan, CT with “the gang” and his beloved dog, Boomer.
Jimmy adored his role as a volunteer coach of many sports including Stamford Youth basketball, baseball, and soccer. Additionally, he loved traveling and spent many years visiting other countries. Most recently, in 2016, he took a trip to Italy with his son and sister which was one of his favorite trips.
He leaves one son, the pride and joy of his life, Matthew J. Coviello and his partner Kristina Mccann, and one sister, his best friend, Jackie Krajewski.
On Saturday, February 5, 2022 a Mass will be held at St. Cecilia Church, 1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford, CT at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jimmy Coviello Memorial Bench Fund at https://gofund.me/e4e7f3e5
