Jean Docimo
Jean M. Docimo, 90, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving sons on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Stamford on November 12, 1932 to the late David and Irene Taylor.
Jean was a lifelong Stamford resident and graduated from Stamford High School in 1950. During high school and after graduation she enjoyed working as a secretary at Pitney Bowes. Later in life, after raising her 4 boys, she returned to the workforce at Stamford Adult and Continuing Education until her retirement.
Mom lived life to its fullest and was very active up until her 80s. On a nice warm day, you would find her at Sterling Farms or Hubbard Heights playing golf with her many girlfriends. She also enjoyed bowling and playing bocce. As an avid sports lover, Mom was always tuned into UCONN basketball, the NY Yankees, and the PGA Tour. But the most important part of her life was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was always there when we needed her. The support and love she provided to her family will be treasured and truly missed.
Jean is survived by her loving children, Frank D. Docimo of NC, Scott Docimo and his wife Shelli of NC and Mark Docimo and his wife Donna of Stamford. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren, Frank E. Docimo, Jr., Brian A. Docimo, Christopher M. Docimo, Jeffrey J. Docimo, Taylor M. Docimo, Jennifer M.J. Docimo and Vincent G. Docimo.
Besides her parents, Jean was also predeceased by her husband, Frank “Hank” Docimo in 2012 and her son, Jeffrey Docimo in 2004.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford, CT. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made in Jean’s memory to St. Jude Research Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
