Rose Migliazza

Rose Pirio Migliazza, longtime residence of Stamford, CT, and beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born in Girifalco, Catanzaro, Italy on January 29, 1928, and was one of four children born to the late Domenico and Paola Migliazza (Signorelli). Rose was 95 years old at the time of her passing.

Rose was the Classic Italian Mom who loved her family, friends and neighbors and they loved her too. She loved to cook and didn’t ever want to hear your stomach growling from being hungry. Rose didn’t want to talk about politics, sports, or TV – she just wanted to know what you wanted to eat! She was a tireless worker who worked many jobs to support her family, and sometimes many jobs at the same time! She was as a seamstress with Lord and Taylor for almost 20 years and was a favorite there among the employees and customers.

Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Migliazza, in 2006 and is survived by her two sons, Robert Migliazza and wife Donna of Stamford, CT and John Migliazza and wife Susan of Monroe, CT; her grandchildren who she adored, Michelle Hylton and husband Alex with great granddaughter, Ella Rose, of Norwalk, CT, Bobby Migliazza and wife Kate with great grandson, Luca Ryan, of Stamford, CT, Cathy Migliazza and fiancé Richard Gaffney of Naugatuck, CT, and Johnny Migliazza III of Monroe, CT. She also leaves behind her sisters, Mary Spagnuolo of Stamford and Patricia Manna and husband Silvio of Norwalk, CT, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was predeceased by her brother, Salvatore Pirio, and brother-in-law, Mario Spagnuolo.

Rose was a major part of her family, and while it will take a long, long time to get used to her not being with us anymore, we celebrate her long life of love and family. She will be missed by all those who loved her, and her memory will live on in their hearts forever.

At her family’s request all services for Rose will be held privately.

The family would like to deeply thank and acknowledge our dear friend, Hattie, for her love and caring for Rose over the years, especially over the course of recent months. Hattie was, and is, a true angel and we cannot thank her enough for her help.
